This is the first game I don't start the whole season. Coach decided to start James at the last second, because they had a short team and
he wanted me and Mike to sub for each other. The starters were James, Mike, Sean, Scott M., and Ryan G. At this point, we control our own destiny,
we really must win the rest of our games to be champions. This is a very important game, but we weren't really up for it, and Whittier definitely
was. They wanted revenge! They brought down a pretty good guy from Varsity to play us, and it was pretty effective, they started out leading
9-0, and were up by as much as 17 in the first half. Enter Josh. As soon as I get in we start to come back, and cut their lead to 36-32 at halftime.
We keep the momentum in the second half, and get up 68-60 with 1:07 remaining in the game. They start to foul, but, since they aren't in the penalty,
we have to take the ball out of bounds a couple of times. The second time, Mike gets it with #52 on him. He starts to fall out of bounds, and tries to throw it
off of the Whittier player's leg, but cannot, because it's tied up. The ref's call a jump ball, possesion Whittier. they had been going at it all night,
and #52 finally cracked. He spontaneously grabs Mike's jersey, so Mike grabs his. Immediately, the whole Whittier team rushed over, and a brawl ensued!
Even a guy from the stands came down and hit Mike in the back! #52 hit him in the face, but Mike was very mature and didn't retaliate. Scott Marshall did, though.
I was a peace-keeper for the whole thing. After a while, the refs straightened everything out, and kicked Mike and #52 out of the game, and
awarded technical free-throws to both teams. We each made one, putting the score at 69-61. Two guys also fouled out on Whittier, who only had
seven to start with. So, for the last 30 seconds, we played five on four, and won!
